FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I translate text from an image or photo online?

Select the source language (or leave it on Auto Detect) and choose your target language from the top bar. Drag and drop your picture, click Browse Images, or press Ctrl+V to paste a screenshot, then click 'Translate Image' to view the extracted text and translation side by side.

Can I batch translate multiple images or photos at the same time?

Yes. You can select or drag and drop multiple photos into the uploader at once. Use the batch queue bar at the top of the workspace to switch between images, click 'Translate All' to process every queued photo sequentially, and click 'Download All .TXT' to save all translations in one combined file.

Can I translate a photo from Japanese, Chinese, Korean, or Arabic to English?

Yes. The OCR engine supports over 100 languages and multiple writing systems, allowing you to translate vertical or horizontal Japanese manga, Chinese product labels, Korean signs, Russian documents, or right-to-left Arabic pages into English and dozens of other languages.

How do I translate text inside a screenshot without saving the file?

Take a screen snip using Windows Snipping Tool (Win + Shift + S) or macOS Screenshot (Cmd + Ctrl + Shift + 4), click anywhere on the Image Translator page, and press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V) to add the clipboard image directly to the translation queue.

How do I save or export the translated text from my images?

After translation completes, click 'Download Translation (.TXT)' to save a clean UTF-8 text file of the current image, click 'Download All .TXT' to export the entire batch queue at once, or click 'Copy' to copy the translated text to your clipboard.

How does browser-based OCR protect document privacy?

Optical character recognition runs inside your browser tab via WebAssembly and HTML5 Canvas, so your personal photos, IDs, and confidential screenshots stay in local device memory rather than being stored on external cloud servers.
