Core Telemetry

Advanced Chromatic Inversion Capabilities

Engineered for lossless negative conversion, alpha-channel preservation, and pre-OCR contrast conditioning.

Bitwise Complement

Exact RGB Channel Reversal

Applies deterministic 8-bit subtraction across Red, Green, and Blue arrays to produce mathematically exact negative images.

Zero-Loss Pixel Shader
Alpha Preservation

Transparent PNG Support

Leaves the 4th RGBA byte (alpha opacity) untouched so black icons and signatures invert to white without losing transparency.

Intact RGBA Transparency
OCR Conditioning

Dark-Mode to Light-Mode

Converts white-text-on-dark-background terminal and UI screenshots into standard black-on-white images for printing and OCR.

Print & OCR Ready
Native Resolution

1:1 Dimension Retention

Processes multi-megapixel photos and scans at their exact original pixel width and height without downsampling.

Source FormatChannel ArchitecturePixel Inversion FormulaTransparency HandlingPrimary Use-Case Scenario
PNG (24/32-bit)3-channel RGB or 4-channel RGBA lossless bitmap.R′=255−R, G′=255−G, B′=255−B, A′=A.100% alpha channel preservation; transparent pixels stay transparent.Inverting black brand logos, UI icons, scanned ink signatures, and dark-mode screenshots.
JPG / JPEG24-bit YCbCr decoded to 8-bit per channel sRGB.Full-frame RGB complement exported as lossless PNG.Opaque frame inversion without introducing secondary JPEG artifacts.Scanned film negatives, medical X-rays, document photos, and artistic negative photography.
WebP GraphicsVP8 lossy or VP8L lossless with optional alpha channel.Direct in-memory RGBA buffer inversion.Retains WebP transparency and sharp vector-like edges in PNG output.Web UI assets, dark/light theme icon conversion, and e-commerce graphics.
BMP / GIF (Static)Uncompressed DIB raster or 8-bit indexed palette.Promotes indexed colors to 32-bit RGBA before pixel complementation.Exact pixel-for-pixel coordinate and color complement fidelity.Legacy scientific diagrams, monochrome technical schematics, and barcode contrast flips.

Frequently Asked Questions

RGB pixel complementation, PNG alpha transparency preservation, and browser privacy specifications.

01

Is this Image Inverter free and 100% private?

▼

Yes, it is completely free and executes 100% client-side. Pixel color inversion is calculated locally inside your browser’s HTML5 Canvas ImageData buffer, ensuring your personal photos, screenshots, and medical scans are never uploaded to external servers.

02

How does mathematical RGB color inversion work?

▼

For every pixel in your image, the engine subtracts the 8-bit Red, Green, and Blue channel values from 255 (R = 255 - R, G = 255 - G, B = 255 - B). Black (0,0,0) becomes white (255,255,255), white becomes black, and colors flip to their exact chromatic complements.

03

Will inverting a transparent PNG logo turn the transparent background black?

▼

No! Our pixel shader only inverts the RGB channels (indices 0, 1, and 2) while leaving the Alpha channel (index 3) untouched. A black logo on a transparent PNG background cleanly becomes a white logo on a transparent PNG background.

04

Can I paste a screenshot directly using Ctrl+V?

▼

Yes. You can take a screenshot on Windows, macOS, or Linux and press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V) anywhere on the page to load and invert the clipboard image immediately without saving a temporary file.

05

Does inverting an image reduce its resolution or sharpness?

▼

No. The canvas is initialized at the exact native width and height of your uploaded image, and the inverted result is exported as a lossless PNG bitmap with zero resolution loss.

06

Can I restore an inverted negative image back to its original colors?

▼

Yes. Because complementary RGB subtraction (255 - x) is mathematically involutory, running an already inverted image through the tool a second time restores 100% of its original pixel colors.
