Client-Side Privacy Policy

At Utilvo, data privacy is not an afterthought or a marketing claim — it is the foundational architectural constraint of our entire platform. This Privacy Policy details how our browser-based utilities operate without collecting, uploading, storing, or inspecting your files.

Zero Server File Uploads Guarantee

Unlike legacy online converters that transmit your sensitive legal documents, confidential PDFs, and personal photos to cloud server farms, Utilvo executes all computations locally on your device. Your files never leave your machine, never traverse the public internet, and are never retained in any database.

1. Information We Do Not Collect (Zero-Ingestion Model)

Because our conversion, formatting, and mathematical algorithms are compiled directly into client-side WebAssembly (WASM) and execute via native HTML5 browser APIs:

  • No Document Transmission: We do not inspect, upload, copy, intercept, or transfer any files you select in our tools (including PDF documents, images, scanned pages, or source code).
  • No Cloud Storage: We operate zero cloud databases for file storage. There are no temporary staging buckets, cache disks, or cloud drives holding your content.
  • Ephemeral Memory Execution: All input buffers reside strictly in your computer's transient RAM memory. As soon as you complete your task, download your result, or close the browser tab, that memory is automatically reclaimed by your operating system.

2. Information We Collect Automatically (Site Operations Only)

To ensure the stability, security, and global performance of our static delivery network, we collect minimal, non-identifying operational metrics:

  • Standard Web Server Logs: Edge CDN servers log routine HTTP request metadata (IP address, operating system, browser user-agent, requested page URL, and response time) strictly for DDoS mitigation, traffic routing, and CDN caching optimization.
  • Aggregate Telemetry: We use privacy-conscious aggregate analytics (Google Analytics) to monitor high-level page visit volumes and error rates. You can freely disable analytics tracking via our Cookie Preferences modal at any time.
  • Customer Correspondence: If you voluntarily reach out via our contact form or email info@utilvo.com, we retain your communication solely to respond to your inquiry and provide technical support.

3. WebAssembly & Memory Isolation Architecture

Utilvo leverages modern browser sandboxing primitives (including Web Workers, OffscreenCanvas, and WebAssembly). This architectural boundary guarantees that:

  • Code execution occurs within an isolated browser process with zero direct access to your local filesystem beyond the explicit file handle you choose.
  • Cryptographic hash calculations, barcode rendering, and image vectorizations occur without outbound socket requests or network dependencies.
  • The entire platform functions completely offline once the application assets are cached by your browser as a Progressive Web App (PWA).

4. Cookies & Local Storage Usage

Utilvo does not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels. Local storage is strictly utilized for:

  • User Interface Preferences: Storing your selected color scheme (dark mode vs. light mode) to eliminate visual flicker.
  • Cookie Consent State: Recording your choices made in our Cookie Preferences center.

For comprehensive details on specific cookie keys, durations, and management, please review our full Cookie & Local Storage Policy.

5. European Union (GDPR) Compliance

For users residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Utilvo adheres strictly to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation):

  • Right to be Forgotten (Article 17): Because we never ingest or store your files, your data is erased by default the moment processing completes.
  • Data Minimization (Article 5): We practice absolute data minimization by shifting 100% of the computation workload to the client.
  • Data Protection Officer & Inquiries: Enterprise organizations requiring a formal Data Processing Addendum may review our binding Data Processing Agreement (Zero-Storage DPA).

6. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law.

7. Contact & Privacy Officer
